A new city program called Our Trans Home SF will begin next month and it will provide housing subsidies for low-income transgender and gender nonconforming San Franciscans. Studies have shown that members of the trans community are eighteen times more likely to experience homelessness. This two-year pilot program is predicted to help 55 San Francisco households by providing $560,000 in direct financial assistance annually.

St. James Infirmary and Larkin Street Youth Services are both going to be the main providers of the program.
