Partner with BiSHoP!

BiSHoP partners with community groups, nonprofits, schools, and faith organizations to bring multilingual, culturally competent, and accessible housing workshops directly to local communities across San Francisco.

Our workshops are designed to help tenants navigate systems, assert their rights, and prevent displacement through practical, actionable education.

Below are our available workshop offerings.

If you’re interested in collaborating to host a workshop for your community, please contact our Community Manager, Andrew De La Cruz, at andrew@bishopsf.org.

We look forward to collaborating!

Our Workshop Offerings

  • DAHLIA is San Francisco’s official online affordable housing application portal.

Our DAHLIA Basics workshops guide families through the basic terminology and process to correctly submit a valid affordable housing application independently.

Workshop presentations include guidance for obtaining the correct documentation, understanding eligibility and the lottery process, and common errors to avoid.

Workshop Presentations are typically 30-45 minutes long, + registration and Q&A.

  • Housing leases & contracts can be confusing, especially in another language.

BiSHoP’s Know-Your-Lease workshops clarify key lease terms, expectations, and responsibilities for both tenants and landlords. Presentations also include practical guidance on renewals, addenda, and potential notices.

Workshops are approximately 45 minutes long + registration and Q&A.

  • Every renter in San Francisco has basic rights to habitability.

Our Tenants’ Rights & Habitability workshops teach families about their rights to a healthy, livable home.

Workshop topics also include advice for addressing mold, pests, broken windows, and leaks, guiding clients through proper documentation, repair requests, and escalation pathways.

Workshops are typically 30-45 minutes + registration and Q&A.

  • Every year, San Francisco’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program (SF ERAP) provides millions of dollars rental relief.

Our Rental Assistance workshops help families understand eligibility, navigate documentation, timelines, and advocacy strategies within San Francisco’s rental assistance landscape to prevent eviction and stabilize housing.

Presentations are approximately 45 minutes long + registration and Q&A.

  • New housing complexes (like 730 Stanyan) give families a chance to land affordable housing.

When a new affordable building opens, we can help your community learn how the process works—from eligibility to application strategies—so applicants can submit a complete, competitive application on time.

Workshops are typically 45 minutes long + registration and Q&A.
