About Us

The Bill Sorro Housing Program (BiSHoP) is a housing non-profit inspired by the life and work of Bill Sorro, a Filipino human rights advocate, trade unionist, community organizer, and native San Franciscan. BiSHoP provides housing services such as housing application assistance, tenant’s rights counseling, and tenant advocacy for low to moderate income individuals. Our clients are immigrants, veterans, seniors, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and members of other marginalized communities.

Office Administration Volunteer

Overview:
Office admin volunteers will work in the reception area and serve as the first point of contact for new and returning clients seeking services.
This is an in-person only volunteer role.

Duties include, but are not limited to

  • Welcome clients, answer questions, and schedule appointments

  • Supporting clients with sign-in and intake collection

  • Support workshop and drop-in clinic hours

  • Other admin tasks such as: data entry, answering and returning phone calls, scanning and organizing clients’ documents 

Additional Details

  • Proficiency in Google G Suite required 

  • Strong people skills required

  • Availability on Tuesdays between the hours of 10AM-5PM highly desired

  • Bilingual English-Spanish, English-Arabic, or bilingual English-Tagalog preferred, but not required. 

Time Commitment: 3-7 hours per week, September 2025 - January 2026
