About Us

The Bill Sorro Housing Program (BiSHoP) is a unique housing service center inspired by the life and work of Bill Sorro. Bill was a human rights advocate, trade unionist, community organizer, and native San Franciscan. BiSHoP provides housing services such as housing application assistance, tenant’s rights counseling, and tenant advocacy for low to moderate income individuals. Our clients are immigrants, veterans, seniors, people with disabilities, LGBTQ+, and members of other marginalized communities.

Social Media Volunteer

Overview

We are looking for dedicated Social Media Volunteers to join our team and assist us with digital campaigns.
This is a hybrid/remote position with a commitment of 4-10 hours per week, for a minimum of 4 months.

Duties include, but are not limited to

  • Blog Copywriting: Assisting in creating engaging and informative blog posts that provide value and community insight, with SEO-friendly design.

  • Social Media Content Creation: Assisting with videos, graphics, and carousels to keep our community updated (via Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook).

  • Content Ideation: Researching and developing culturally-sensitive content ideas addressing low-income housing, housing advocacy, and tenants’ rights.

Additional Details

  • Proficiency in social media platforms and graphic design tools highly desired

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills desired

  • Experience with SEO and content marketing preferred.

  • Ability to balance independent and group work

  • Passion for housing advocacy and community service is highly desired.

Time Commitment: 4-10 hours per week, 4 months minimum
